Program Objectives
The objective of the Massage Therapy Program is to instruct students on the theory and practice of Massage Therapy. Students will be exposed to various technique applications, theoretical principles and practical experience. Students will be taught to perform a basic Swedish massage while incorporating indicated related techniques. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligibleto take the National Massage Board Examination. (NCBTMB) or the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEX).
Program Description
The Massage Therapy program instructs students in the art of massage utilizing a combination of didactic and practical teaching methodologies. Students are instructed in various topics including massage theory, history of massage, Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, Asian and Western modalities, CPR, massage law as well as other related programmatic topics. The student will be issued an Associate of Science degree upon successful completion of the program, meeting all course requirements and fulfilling all financial obligations to Dade Medical College.
