Go Pink Campaign

Dade Medical College conducts a yearly "Go Pink" campaign in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In an effort to increase awareness and preventative care for this disease, the college donated 500 mammography screenings to benefit low-income and uninsured women in the community in 2011, a private investment of more than $50,000.00.

In addition to the donation of mammography screenings, Dade Medical College's website goes pink throughout October and features online fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Also, the school sponsors billboard ads across Miami-Dade and Broward counties promoting breast cancer awareness and the free screening giveaways and hosts an on-campus awareness initiative for students and staff.

Key community partners for the 2011 campaign included:

Planned activities for the month of October included fundraising within the four college campuses and online for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" campaign October 1-31 (the college matched both totals, in effect doubling the donation), a college-wide "Pink Day" where all employees were encouraged to wear pink to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month October 5, sponsoring a table display at The Falls' "Strut Your Stuff For Cancer" event October 6, a signature fundraising mixer event October 27 as well as individual campus celebrations.
