Program Objectives
It is the purpose of the Advanced Placement Program in Nursing to transition students from vocational nursing to professional nursing. Dade Medical College will help to refine the nursing skills and knowledge that students have going into the program in the areas of technical skills, disease prevention, health maintenance and rehabilitation. It is also the goal of Dade Medical College that students pass the NCLEX exam administered by the Florida Board of Nursing. It is DMC's purpose to help students function effectively as professional nurses and efficient, effective members of a healthcare team. Students will be able to utilize the nursing process in decision making while providing care to patients and their families.

Program Description
Dade Medical College's Advanced Placement program in Nursing is designed to successfully transition students from LPN to RN. Students will acquire essential knowledge in leadership and community relations. Advanced Placement students will also enhance the knowledge they have already acquired as LPNs with more technical nursing skills,
critical thinking skills, and clinical judgement to work as functioning members of a thriving healthcare team.
